Will you be my valentine?

Sugar Lovin'

One of Camden's favorite things to do is help me bake.  He especially loves to make anything with frosting.  I think that is just because he likes to lick the beaters after the frosting is finished.  He also really wanted to make cookies to give to our neighbor, who is like another grandma to him, for Valentine's Day.

 

Ciera would first pinch off all the frosting and lick it off her fingers, then eat the cookie once all the frosting was gone. 

Love for Dad

Camden made a Valentine's card for dad.  We cut out a snowflake heart to put on the front of the card, then he decorated the inside.

Straight from the Heart

Camden and Ciera really enjoyed decorating an assortment of hearts for their grandparents.  Both of them loved doing the fingerprint hearts the best. Camden also made sure we sent some to his favorite uncle, Jonny.

 

Ciera knew she was making these to send her love to grandma and grandpa, so she kept doing her sign for love. 

Shadow Puppets

I made some shadow puppets for the kids to play with.  They had fun making the shadows shrink, grow, and chase each other around.

Water and Ice

Camden loves using an eyedropper to mix the different colors of water together in the ice cube trays.  This time we also froze some different colors of water the night before to see how the colors would mix while they melted.  Ciera just loved sliding the regular ice around on her tray, watching them melt, and comparing their different sizes.

Happy Groundhog's Day!

Every time we read a book about Groundhog's Day or someone mentioned it, Camden would say in exasperation: it's just a myth; it's not real.  He liked the stories but was worried people might believe groundhogs could actually predict the weather.  He loved making this treat.
