LEGOLAND

Camden was so excited to go to LEGOLAND again.  He couldn't wait to ride his favorite roller coaster, Project X.  This time he was also engrossed with the Star Wars section.  He roamed from scene to scene multiple times and had me take pictures of him with his favorite scenes and characters.

When we first walked by R2-D2, he was standing next to the large statue of Darth Vader.  When we walked back, Camden was thrilled to see that R2-D2 was moving around on his own.  As we walked by R2-D2, Camden whispered conspiratorially to me, "I want to go talk to R2-D2.  Can I talk to him?"  He spent at least 10 minutes following him around with the cutest, most ecstatic smile on his face.

Ciera wanted to stick her head in the lion's mouth, but every time she started to, it would roar.  You can see her peeking through though.

She loved to read the map and tell us which way to go.  She also did this every time we used the map app on our phone to go someplace new.  As soon as the phone would speak to tell us a new direction, she would shout, "Let me see it!  Okay, you need to go this way and turn right!"  She seemed to be enthralled with maps and directions on this trip.

I didn't take many pictures of them on actual rides.  That was obviously their favorite thing to do.  Ciera said her favorite ride was "the roller coaster that went fast, fast, FAST!!!"

Crystal Cove State Park

We loved how uncrowded this beach was.  The kids ran in the ocean and played in the sand.  Ciera's favorite thing was playing in the waves and jumping in the water.  According to her, the more splash the better.  Camden's favorite thing was smashing sand castles and sand molds.  He only built them so he could immediately crush them under foot.  He also enjoyed running out into the ocean to fill his bucket and watering can with seawater.

One time we convinced Camden to build at least five things before he began smashing them.  That way Ciera could help with the smashing too.

Carlsbad Flower Fields

We wandered around the Carlsbad Flower Fields this morning.  Mom and dad would have strolled around the flowers a little longer, but the kids were ready to try the sweet-pea maze and play area.  On our way out we got a fresh strawberry shake - yum!

Silver Strand State Beach

This was the first beach we hit.  We all had a delightful time walking in the ocean and looking for seashells and sand dollars along the beach.  Both Camden and Ciera each found a whole sand dollar and lots of seashells they liked.  Ciera loved every time a wave would crash against her.  We had a very hard time getting her to leave the beach.

Balboa Park and Reuben H. Fleet Science Center

We walked around Balboa Park before perusing the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.  Ciera loved the fountains, chasing birds, and smelling the flowers.  Camden was just ready to go to the museum.

They loved exploring all the different exhibits at the museum.  The Do-Undo machine had them bursting into laughter.  They would dance, spin around, or do other silly things, then watch as the machine played it forward and backward at a higher speed.  We had a hard time pulling them away from it so others could have a turn.

I Bark!

Ciera loves to put this hat on and run around or chase us while she barks.  We all laugh and think it's adorable.
