Happy Halloween!

They had fun trick-or-treating.  A couple people actually figured out that Camden was Jango Fett from Star Wars, but almost everyone knew Ciera was Sully from Monsters Inc.  People sure do decorate more for Halloween than I remember from when I went trick-or-treating years ago (and more than we do now).  It made it extra fun for the kids.  Ciera didn't even want to leave a couple of the houses.  She wanted to keep watching the talking pumpkins, the smoke bubbles, the moving monsters, etc.  I'm glad they had a fun Halloween.

Ciera's Protector

Ciera has been a great napper.  After a few books and songs, I could just put her in bed and she would go right to sleep.  She might sing to her stuffed animals first and then go to sleep, but I never had to go back in.  Camden has given her new ideas about nap time.  He hates when she naps, because he loses that playtime with her.  Now once it's nap time, they've started hiding Ciera, and Camden "guards" her hiding spot and "protects" her from evil mommy.  He then passes her toys to play with, so she doesn't get bored.  Yes, he decorated her again as well.

Haunted Forest Puppet Show

We took Camden and Ciera to a cute puppet show at the library.  The puppeteer first did two Halloween songs with puppets that involved kids from the audience.  The actual puppet show was about a boy who had to pick gooseberries in the haunted forest so his mom could bake a pie.  It was cute, funny, and not scary at all.  Both of them were mesmerized and laughing the whole time.  Camden talked about how funny it was most of the way home.

Little Haunts

Little Haunts at This is the Place Heritage Park was a pleasant place for the kids to don their costumes and do a little trick-or-treating.  Plus, they got to learn a little pioneer heritage while they were at it.  We also did the train and pony ride of course!  At one point, someone commented on his "power ranger" costume, and he wasn't too happy about it.  He told them, "I'm not a power ranger, I'm Jango Fett!"

Spooky Science

We thought we'd try the Spooky Science exhibit at The Leonardo.  Although smaller than expected, it was still intriguing.  It explored the science behind fear.   Some of the things the kids enjoyed were the scary stories around a campfire, a huge shadow wall, a little fear room, and experimenting in the mad science lab.  We also tried the exhibits covered under general admission.  They spent the most time at the tinkering garage where they explored electricity and made airplanes.  Camden also loved making himself invisible at the green screen exhibit.

Ghost Windsock

The kids love to pick out books at the library and can't wait to get started reading them.  Today, the library also had a ghost windsock craft to take home.  Once completed, they enjoyed chasing each other around the backyard with them.

Gardens in the Fall

We visited Thanksgiving Point Gardens one last time before they close until spring.  Usually, their favorite thing to do is feed the fish, but today I think it was playing in all the leaves.  It was a beautiful fall day.
