Paper Airplanes

Camden really wanted to make paper airplanes.  Since this week is the Fourth of July, we made patriotic ones.  Ciera actually lasted longer trying to fly her airplane than Camden did.  They love to eat outside whenever they can, so we also had a little patriot snack with fruit and Greek yogurt.

The Grotto

We hiked a short trail in Nebo Loop to a small, cave-like waterfall   The kids enjoyed all the footbridges they got to cross to get there.  Their favorite part was playing in the water and touching the waterfall.

I Want a Bike Like Camden's!

Ciera really wants to ride a bike like Camden (one with pedals).  We told her she needed to practice more first.  She asked to go practice in the parking lot where Camden learned to ride a bike.  We thought it was cute.

She was always trying to catch up with Camden.  They instigated racing to the curb too.  Once Ciera reached the curb, she would say, "I didn't win again."  We started having her race daddy, who was "jogging."  Amazingly, she won every time!  She told us she really wants a bike with pedals so she can go faster.

She would also take little "rests," because "she was sweaty from exercising."

Groesbeck Swimming

The kids had their first day back at Groesbeck Swimming, since this place only teaches in the summer.  Once I pulled the camera out, this was the only expression Camden would give me.

Utah County Parade of Homes

We have been enjoying the Utah County Parade of Homes the last couple of weeks.  It's given us some great ideas for our basement, since we really need to start finishing that soon (hopefully before the baby comes).  Today was the last day of the parade, so we finished it off by stopping for Hokulia Shaved Ice.  Camden has been begging to get some again this summer.

The kids especially liked seeing all the little play houses built into the homes.  There was one house that had a mini city in it, with each little building housing a different activity for kids.  We all thought it was amazing, but not something we would ever do.  We also wouldn't allow Camden and Ciera to play in it even though they really wanted to.  They still enjoyed just looking at it.  It was like having a little children's museum right in the house.

In the one below, they were actually allowed to climb up inside.  They had fun with that, especially sliding down the slide to get out.

While these play houses were fun, they aren't practical for our basement.

The Princess Monster

Ciera was supposed to go change into her pajamas.  When she came out of her room, though, she came out in this while exclaiming, "I'm the princess monster!"  She proceeded to stomp around and growl at us then dance and spin in circles.

What is your favorite movie?  Cars
What is your favorite song?  "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam"

Ciera has been anxiously awaiting her birthday.   As soon as the day began, she started singing happy birthday and continued singing it sporadically throughout the day.  She chose Cracklin' Oat Bran for breakfast and scrambled eggs with leaves (spinach), a banana, and bread for lunch.  For dinner, she chose to go to Sweet Tomatoes.  She really wanted a Magic School Bus cake, so I tried to fulfill her wishes.

We love having such a sweet, silly, and imaginative little girl in our family.  Whether she's a bird, a fairy, a dog, a bat, the Magic School Bus, Perry the Platypus, or a frog, she's always so fun to be around.  She adores her big brother and wants to be wherever he is and do whatever he is doing.  Sometimes she even gets mad at us (mom and dad) if we ever try to listen to her or answer her questions.  "No, I am talking to Camden!"  We all love her so much!
