Bird's Nest

We have a swallow's nest in our eaves and don't know what to do about it.  Apparently it is illegal to remove a swallow's nest while the birds are still inhabiting it.  I do think the bird next to the nest is dead (although I've had to convince Darren of that).  We need to do something about that without reenacting a scene from The Birds.
