We explored the south rim of the Grand Canyon today. The kids enjoyed it more than I thought they would. They were amazed at how deep and big it was. Our first stop was at a replica of an Anasazi Watchtower at Desert View. It had great panoramic views of the Grand Canyon plus replicas of prehistoric pictographs and petroglyphs. There were also Hopi paintings that depicted various aspects of Hopi mythology and religious ceremonies.
Our next stop was at the Tusayan Museum and Ruin. It provided a glimpse into Puebloan life at the Grand Canyon 800 years ago. There was also a short trail around the actual ruin.
We also hiked part of the rim trail and walked out to Mather Point. Camden thought it was interesting that the Grand Canyon was one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and that people from all around the world came to see it.
